Tea in China

Was watching a TV show the other week called "Wild China" and they showed you tea being grown in China. I thought it was really interesting and they even had goats that wonder around keeping the grass trimmed. However they hate tea leaves so there isn't any problem with them eating any of the crop. Actually that's quite funny because you usually think that goats will eat everything and anything.

Anyway, one of the things they showed about drinking the tea was that they put loads more tea into the pot than we would ever consider doing in the West and only had a relatively small amount of water. I wonder water that would taste like. They only kept the leaves in for a short amount of time so I suppose the tea wouldn't have gotten too strong.

I Need a New Teapot

I really hate the tea pot I have. It was given as a gift and looks really nice. But it's a terrible pourer. I mean, there ends up being more tea poured on the table than in the cups. It just driblles basically and it's a paint in the backside. I suppose the problem with buying a teapot is the fact that you can't exactly give it a try before you buy it. Oh well, I guess I had better hope that my next tea pot is better.

I Bought Some More Oolong Tea

Previously I had bought Jade Oolong tea which I really loved. We were running low of it so decided to go back to the same tea shop for some more. However I'm not sure the guy there was all that clued up. So we bought pre-packed Oolong in a box rather than the loose Jade Oolong we bought previously. Anyway, it's very different but nice all the same. The Jade Oolong is much more green whilst the Oolong is more blue/black.

Why I Enjoy Tea

I never used to like tea. I always thought that it tasted horrible. But this is because in the UK we get the likes of Tetleys which is crap. Instead I have started to drink green tea which is totally different and you don't add milt or sugar. Now I can't get enough of it and will drink it all day long if I could. I also like Oolong tea which is basically the same as green tea but slightly different. I buy it loose from a tea shop and it's great but fairly expensive. Another sort of tea I have been drinking it rooisbos which is from South Africa. It took me a while to get used to it but I really love it.

Test on Enjoy Tea

This is just a test post to see if this blog about tea has worked. I was going to turn it into a store but thought that I would turn it into a blogger blog instead. I hope to include lots of info about tea and why you should start drinking it.
